Our new book, God’s Lineup: Testimonies of Major League Baseball Players, will be heading to the printer very soon. Kevin and I finished up the editing and sent it on its way. Kevin has a new website that discusses the book and gives more details. We hope to get some signings etc. set up for the release of the book by Spring Training. As I’ve been reading through the testimonies again, it’s amazing how strong and on fire these ball players are for the Lord!

This evening the Dean of University of Florida’s journalism school is here in Greenville! As a graduate of the school, I am excited to meet him and see how many local j school grads there are.
The happy hour is at Soby’s downtown at 5:30 p.m. Should be a great networking opportunity and I plan to hand out business cards. I’m always looking for more work whether it be photography or writing.

After discussing the book with our publisher Ambassador International, we have decided to hold off on releasing the book until March. It will coincide with Spring Training and will allow us to add more players to the book.
We are very excited about it and waiting should help increase sales and help us get the Word out about Jesus to more people. Family Christian, Lifeway and other bookstores will be carrying it and they are having some sports promos around the time we release the book.

It’s the end of an era with the liftoff of Atlantis this afternoon - the final flight for the space program.
I remember growing up in Brevard County and watching the shuttle every time it blasted into space and I even saw several launches up close about 3 miles away. Two of them really stand out in my mind. I saw a launch at night and it was so beautiful and I also saw one liftoff on July 4th.
STS-135 is a mission that America will never forget. We need to continue with space exploration. It is kind of sad that my daughter will never be able to see a launch in person like I did. I really hope that she is able to see us go back into space. We watched the launch from home on the television and Maggie waved goodbye to the astronauts.
I’m so proud of my dad, Ray McCormick, who has worked on the program for many years and would step outside his office to watch it. I know it must be difficult for him and his team to see it end. But he feels it’s time for something new. He is retiring soon and it’s good timing. Many people are losing their jobs and economy in the area will be greatly affected.
I hope Americans realize how important space exploration is for us. We have learned about so many things and development so many things that people just don’t realize. It’s time to get excited again and see what the future holds!

Kevin and I were recently featured in the “Man Issue” of Belle Magazine, a local magazine for women in the Upstate. I wrote an article about my husband’s obsession with America’s favorite pastime. It was fun to reflect on Kevin’s love of baseball and I was able to talk about our new book “God’s Lineup“.
They also ran a big picture of us with Maggie decked out in our Cardinals outfits. You can find the free magazine around the Upstate at different locations.

I have been meeting with friends to help organize an event that will take place Sept. 17 at The Channel in downtown Greenville at 6 p.m.
The fundraiser, Reality Check, will feature reality tv stars from American Idol, America’s Got Talent, Biggest Loser and others. It will be a way for the public to interact in a really cool way with these stars.
Reality Check (you can also find us on Facebook) is helping bring the reality of safe drinking water to those around the world. We are in need of items for our silent auction and hope to also offer door prizes. Our goal is to raise enough money for Water of Life to drill two more wells that will impact hundreds of lives. Water of Life, a non-profit based in the Carolinas, is bringing clean water to countries such as Liberia, Sierra Leone, Gambia and India.
Hope to see you there!

On our way to Rhode Island June 9, I received an email that was amazing. I shot photos for a friend of mine Alison Storm. They were of her and her friends and they have put together a traveling journal. Well, the Wall Street Journal was working on a story about it and they asked if they could use some of my photos!
The article is called “How to Keep the ‘Good’ in Goodbye”. All of the photos in the article are mine.
It was printed in the paper while I was in New York on Wednesday June 15 with several color photos. Never thought I would have photos in the WSJ. Very exciting!
