Drive Game & Upcoming Features

Friday, April 16th, 2010

I headed out to the Greenville Drive game last night for Greenville Metromix. Take a look at the photos. Now I have access to the field for closer shots of the players, so I will be posting more of those as I attend the games. Pretty cool!

I’m also working on my Dish of the Month feature. In May I am featuring burgers. Yum! Went to Overlook Grill this afternoon to shoot pictures of their Overlook Burger and then I’ll be heading over to Mojo’s Famous Burgers in Simpsonville next week.

I also do First Look shots at new Upstate restaurants. I just took pictures of Papas and Beer Mexican Restaurant on Haywood Road. Sunday it’s a road trip to Anderson to sell my book at First Presbyterian of Anderson and then photos of a new restaurant called Bullfeathers.

Out of Debt Christian

Wednesday, July 29th, 2009

I just wrote my first blog for www.outofdebtchristian.com and hope that you’ll check it out! It will be posted July 30! The blog discusses tithing and the importance of it. It’s been a challenge for us due to the economy, but God has blessed us and we continue to tithe.  I continue to look for more avenues to work on my writing skills and photography skills. Writing blogs, stories and taking photos is still my dream job and I hope to find more work.

I am also working on some very special projects that will really reach a lot of people! But more on that later!

Social Media

Friday, May 8th, 2009

Isn’t it crazy? I recently wrote a story for everydaychristian.com about churches and their use of Twitter and Facebook. Churches are beginning to Twitter their Sunday services and have Facebook groups to let others know about upcoming events etc. I just think back to when I was a kid and we didn’t have any of this fancy stuff. There I go sounding like my parents… when I was your age….I didn’t even have a cell phone probably until college and now five year old kids have them. Now social media has entered the scene. It took me a little while to decide to try Facebook. I used to think of it as kind of like MySpace and I was always cautious about that because I only heard of teenagers being on it. Facebook is great! I’ve gotten back in touch with several people from high school etc. Now Twitter.. that’s another story. I am still trying to get a handle on how it works. I get that you have short bursts of information, you can follow others and they follow you, but who is really interested in what I’m doing? Seriously. I am going to try harder and make sure I tweet about important things with my freelance work. Maybe I can get more followers who might care what I’m doing. Anyway, the bottom line is social media is taking over and we all need to get onboard or we’ll never keep up with new technology.
